For audit firms

Where your next SOC 2 clients come from.

Referrals are lumpy. Ads stop the day you stop paying. This directory is steadier, because buyers reach you three ways at once: they read the niche rankings and click through, they ask ChatGPT, Copilot, or Perplexity, which cite these pages, and when a buyer describes what they need, the firms that fit surface first.

Your next client is building their shortlist inside ChatGPT before they ever click a website. Half of B2B buyers now start there, not on Google. The old scoreboard of traffic and clicks counts the wrong thing. When a buyer asks the AI who to hire, the only question that matters is whether it says your name.

*101,600 is a floor, not a ceiling. Microsoft Copilot + partners is the only AI engine that publishes a citation count, so it is the only number we can verify. ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude almost certainly cite this directory more, but none of them share data.

What it costs

Two ways to buy visibility.

A SOC 2 client isn't a one-off. Type 2 renews every year, so one you win here is worth $60,000 to $150,000 over its life. Featured is $2,000/mo.

You do the audits. We bring the pipeline. A flat fee covers your complete profile and placement, your audit revenue stays entirely yours, and we never charge per lead. To do more you buy more visibility, from Featured to Leader, never a share of your work.

Leader Β· Own the niche
$5,000/mo
one-year term Β· $60,000/year Β· billed quarterly or up front

Everything in Featured, plus sole sponsorship of your niche and outside placements we run every quarter: guest posts, PR, industry mentions. One firm per niche.

  • Everything in Featured.
  • Sole "Leader" sponsor in the niche, ranked first in every niche listicle.
  • Weekly signals plus monthly competitive intelligence.
  • One sponsored article per quarter, co-authored and clearly disclosed.
  • 10+ external placements per quarter we build for you (guest posts, PR, links), the floor we guarantee, not the ceiling. Counting brand mentions, not just links, a typical quarter runs 100 to 200.
  • Listing on competitor "alternative to" pages.
  • Quarterly strategy review.
  • We take only a few Leader firms at a time, so the placements actually get made, not just promised.

Not ready to pay? The Free Listed Profile stays free and complete: verified ownership, a corrected listing, full edits, and eligibility for fit-matched buyer briefs on the same terms as paid firms. We never gate the directory.

What you get

What Featured and Leader include.

01

A profile that does the selling.

A complete, verified profile that AI assistants can quote, with client reviews and a direct-booking widget, written and maintained by us.

02

Proof you can see.

Every month you see it working: which of your pages got cited, how your listicle ranking moved, how many buyers viewed your profile. Leader adds weekly signals and competitive intelligence.

03

Named in the rankings.

Leader ranks first in its niche. Featured firms are named on the homepage shortlist, the best-auditors page, and the niche listicles. Free firms follow.

Guarantee

Three guarantees. A lead count isn't one.

We only guarantee what we control, and we put the remedy in writing. Two of these refund you if we miss. On the third, leads, we tell you exactly what we will and will not promise, and why.

01

Delivery

We ship your profile, placements, and reports on schedule.

Miss it and that quarter is free. No asterisks.

02

Visibility

We measure your baseline at the start, the same way we'll measure the floor, so the number you're held to isn't one we invented after the sale. Go paid and we put a floor above it, in writing, by quarter's end.

Miss it and the next quarter is free.

03

Leads

We won't promise you a number. At our volume that would be a figure we couldn't honestly stand behind, and a guaranteed lead count would turn this into a referral fee, the exact thing that compromises your independence under AICPA rules.

What we do guarantee is the mechanics: you're on every fit-matched brief in your niche, your booking link is live and tagged, and every lead and every click comes to you in a monthly report.

How matching works

Paying does not move you up the match.

Buyer comparisons rank on fit and profile quality: verified reviews, current pricing and capacity, responsiveness, and recently refreshed data. Featured and Leader firms maintain a complete verified profile, so they rank well, the same way a free firm that keeps its profile complete and verified ranks well. We charge a flat fee for the profile and placement. We never take a cut of your audit work and we never charge per lead. Fit comes first: a clearly-better-fit firm always ranks ahead of a worse-fit firm, paid or not. This is enforced in our matching code.
For conservative QC policies, here is a line any firm can hand a buyer: "This firm advertises on soc2auditors.org. soc2auditors receives no fee contingent on your engagement and takes no part of the firm's fee."
Honest fit check

Who should not buy this.

We would rather you skip it than regret it.

Featured and Leader are a bad fit for firms that:

  • will not maintain verified reviews, current pricing, and current capacity,
  • cannot reply to a buyer brief within 48 hours or provide a price-list,
  • have a minimum engagement above the ranges buyers ask for, unless the niche matches,
  • operate outside the niches where AI/search demand actually lives,
  • want payment to override fit, which is not on offer at any price.

If this describes your firm, claim the free profile and keep your money.

FAQ

Common questions.

What is an AI citation, and how is it counted?

It is a reference to a page on this directory inside an AI assistant's answer. We count it with Bing Webmaster Tools, AI Performance β€” citation sources: Microsoft Copilots and Partners. The figure on this page is 101,600 AI citations in the last 30 days. We report it exactly as the source labels it and never blend it with search impressions.

That figure is a floor. Microsoft Copilot + partners is the only AI engine that publishes a citation count, so it is the only one we can verify. ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude likely cite this directory more, but they share no data. The one other measurable signal is crawler traffic: Cloudflare AI Crawl Control logs about ~75,000 AI-crawler requests a month against this directory (2,170 a day), though crawls are not citations and we never present them as such.

Does paying affect buyer matching?

No. Matching ranks on fit first, then on verified quality signals among equally-fit firms, never on payment. It is enforced in code and covered by an automated test in the repo. A clearly-better-fit firm always ranks ahead of a worse-fit firm, paid or not.

Why is this allowed under AICPA rules?

Because it is advertising, not a commission or a referral fee. You pay a flat fee for a profile and placement, the same whether you win zero clients or fifty. Firms sometimes offer to share the economics, a percentage of the engagements that come through the directory. We always decline, and not only for our own positioning: a directory that took part of your audit fee would be a contingent referral arrangement, and contingent fees tied to attest work put your independence at risk. Declining protects you. We take no cut of any engagement and charge nothing per lead. For the most conservative QC policy, an optional one-line disclosure fully covers it.

Do you take a cut of my audit work?

No. That is the difference between us and a lead-gen vendor. The fee is the entire revenue. We do not charge buyers, we do not take a percentage of any engagement, and we do not charge per lead, per intro, or per brief.

What if my niche is full?

Featured is capped at a handful of firms per vertical niche, and Leader is one firm per niche. When a niche fills, the slot closes and we keep a waitlist. Caps are tracked honestly. Verticals are the capped slots; geographies are modifiers, not separate slots.

Featured or Leader?

Featured gets you a complete verified profile and named placement in three to five niche listicles, billed quarterly. Leader makes you the sole sponsor of a niche, ranked first, with outside placements we run every quarter and competitive intelligence, on a one-year term billed quarterly or up front. Most firms start with Featured.

Can I switch niches mid-cycle?

Talk to us. Your primary vertical niche plus one natural geo modifier is set at the start. Moving to a different vertical is a separate conversation, since it depends on whether a slot is open there.
